Properties

Product Characteristics :

  • SFX017 Viscous / Clear colour

  • SFX002 Viscous / Clear (Screenfix Catalyst)

Main Characteristics

  • The frame must be clean and dry.

  • Using an aluminum or steel frame, lightly sand the surface to make it rough and remove any dirt or contaminants.

  • Rinse with water and allow it to dry completely again.

  • Apply a thin coat of SFX017 to the frame.

  • Allow the adhesive to become tacky before stretching the screen mesh onto the frame.

Screen Frame Preparation

  • Mix the Screenfix and Screenfix Catalyst in a ratio of 10:1 by weight before use.

  • Using a short-bristle, stiff brush, apply screen frame adhesive (SFX015) evenly along the screen frame and onto the tensioned screen mesh. Ensure proper contact between the frame and the mesh, especially when using fine-mesh screens.

  • Allow the adhesive to dry for approximately 30 minutes, then trim away the excess screen mesh from the frame.

  • Allow the adhesive to cure completely for at least 2 additional hours before use or preparing the screen stencil. Leaving it to cure overnight is recommended for maximum solvent resistance and durability against all types of solvents.

  • Brushes used for applying screen frame adhesive (SFX015) should be cleaned immediately after use. Remove any adhesive from the brush by wiping it off, or soak the brush in Fast Thinner (2938).
