WATER-BASED HEAT TRANSFER INK (WTA)

WTA Water-Based Inks are utilized in the production of highly washable and highly stretchable single and multi-color transfers for underwear, sportswear, casual wear, and tagless applications.

USER INFORMATION

  • Suitable for Manual, Semi-Automatic, and Fully Automatic Machines.

  • Before use, ensure thorough mixing of all inks, as ink settling may occur during transportation and storage. Utilize it as a 2-pack ink system with ADD386 (Cross Linker Aqua) at a concentration of 4.0% for maximum durability.

  • Please note that all 2-pack inks will undergo IRREVERSIBLE HARDENING after mixing. If printing is completed or interrupted for more than 30 minutes, it is crucial to thoroughly clean the screen mesh, screen machinery, and equipment to prevent permanent damage.

  • The “Pot-life” of the 2-pack ink is approximately 6-8 hours. The actual “Pot-life” duration depends on temperature and humidity levels.

  • Optimum resistances will be achieved a minimum of 72 hours after printing.

Usage

  • After printing the heat transfer film with WTA200 (White), dry the printed sheet in a drying oven at 150 ํC for 3-5 minutes before overprinting with WTA090 (Extender Base for WTA). Then, dry it again in an oven using the same temperature and time, or air dry for 15 minutes.

  • Ensure that the print is completely dry before proceeding.

  • Scatter ADD900 (Adhesive Powder for WTA) onto the printed sheet then dry at 150 ํC for 3-5 minutes.

  • Heat press at 180 ํC for 20 seconds.

Heat Curing / Press

  • If the ink thickens due to drying or evaporation, add 9003 (Thinner For WTA) Diluent.

  • If the ink dries too quickly in the screen and/or for small designs, add 4010 (Retarder For WTA)

  • If the ink still dries too quickly, especially in high-temperature environments, add 4020 (Strong Retarder For WTA) Strong Retarder.

Additives

  • WTA200 (White), WTA090 (Extender Base for WTA), and WTA073 (Catalyst for WTA)

  • WTA073 (Catalyst for WTA) is available in 1 Kg, 5 Kg & 25 kg pack sizes. Ink and Cross Linker are supplied separately.

  • Cleaner 4000 for cleaning all Screen & Machine Parts. Available in 1 L, 5 L, 25 L, & 200 L pack sizes.

  • SST002 stripping powder can be used to strip the screen emulsion & allow re-imaging. Avilable in 100 g. 1 Kg and 25 Kg pack sizes.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Minimum of 6 months.

  • For maximum shelf life, keep containers closed and store in a cool environment between 5 ํC (41 ํF) and 25 ํC (77 ํF), out of direct sunlight and away from any heat sources.

  • Close the bottle tightly after every use.

  • This product is not stable when exposed to freezing temperatures and will not be shipped during such condition

Storage & Shipping

  • Products should be thoroughly mixed before use, as settling of the ink may occur during transportation and storage. 

  • All products are supplied in bulk quantities and require weighing out before mixing/printing, as the ratios may vary depending on color and substrate to be printed.

  • T326 Screen Emulsion and PatlyUC Screen Hardener are recommended for use with a Water-Based ink system.

  • For screen flat-bed printing, it is recommended to use a medium (Shore hardness 70-85) square-edged squeegee in conjunction with a standard 77T (195 threads/inch) mesh printing screen. How ever, finer mesh can be used for fine text, and coarser mesh (36T – 61T) can be used for backing white and adhesive.

Notes

  • WTA ink is formulated free of lead and other heavy metals.

  • It is recommended to wear suitable protective gear such as glasses and gloves.

  • Take particular care to avoid splashes into the eyes and skin contact. If the ink comes in contact with skin, wash with soap and plenty of water.

  • If ink comes in contact with eyes, wash with plenty of water and consult with a doctor.
